Dr. McEachern has a special interest in providing experienced service to discharged members from the RCMP and the Canadian Military and she is accepting new clients for Veterans Affairs Canada.
Dr. McEachern is a child and adult psychologist, she works with individuals, couples, children and their parents. Dr. McEachern was born and raised in Kelowna.
She joined Kelowna Professional Group in 1994 and became the first full time female psychologist in private practice in Kelowna. She continues to offer a comprehensive range of services to children and adults, including marriage counseling. She has supervised many registrants to the College of Psychologists of B.C. both in child clinical and adult clinical assessment and treatment.
Dr. McEachern is heading the "Next Steps Program" for students transitioning out of high school and is now accepting new clients for this program.
Therapy is personalized, with a client centered approach drawing from a diverse training background including cognitive (dialectical) and behavioural techniques, a review of interpersonal factors, life context, and proceed with co-authored goals. She leads team assessments of children and adults, informed by psycho-social and cognitive factors, including theories of attachment. Her child clinical work informs the adult work as well when taking personal histories. She has diverse experience with assessment and treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal and work stresses. She offers culturally sensitive services based on decades of work honoring the diversity of people who live in the Okanagan and greater B.C.
Dr. McEachern has consulted to businesses with regards to marketing strategies, program development, and group interventions to improve system dynamics. Confidential consultation is available. She also consults to all sizes of business for human resource hiring, toxic workplace solutions, stress management for productivity, and inspirational team talks.
Areas of experience are diverse, but two specialty groups worthy of mention are RCMP, Canadian Military, and Veterans, to whom Dr. McEachern provides first responder assessment and treatment services.

Dr. McEachern enjoys public speaking on a number of topics and has been invited to a variety of venues from as far East as Montreal, to the northern reaches of Whitehorse. She welcomes speaker invitations, and all demographics will enjoy her memorable style that is at once both informative and engaging with humour. Her goal is for people to leave with understanding, practical ideas, and renewed hope. Subjects for small work groups or larger educational forums (of both professionals and public groups) have included motivation, healthy personality goals, psychological factors affecting health issues, organizational team building, depression, anxiety (stress management lifestyles), parenting strategies, and healthy marriages and families. Dr. McEachern is currently working on a book series that sets out to demystify mental health issues and provide practical solutions, in short order. She is a team player and consults with medical doctors, rehabilitation professionals, and lawyers for a variety of illnesses and injuries. Dr. McEachern is an expert witness at all levels of Court in British Columbia. She is a member of the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, the British Columbia Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, and the Canadian Registry of Health Service Providers.
Dr. McEachern offers direct billing for those covered by Pacific Blue Cross, Medavie Blue Cross, and Green Shield.
