Rachel Trumpour has worked in mental health treatment since 2017, working with both adults and our seniors. She combines the evidence-based approaches of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy, with skill training in mindfulness and self-compassion. She believes in a collaborative co-authorship of a personalized treatment plan that is unique to each client and their identified goals.
In addition to her Masters of Social Work with a Clinical Specialization, Mrs. Trumpour sought advanced training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), as well as deep dives into the treatment of trauma and depression. She has also received training in the area of death and dying, and worked with individuals in hospice navigating end of life.
It is of the utmost importance to Mrs. Trumpour that each client feels they are safe and understood in her office. She aims to meet each client in a way that is authentic, compassionate, and non-judgemental, and knows that the therapeutic relationship is key to successful therapeutic outcomes.
Specialties:
Ms. Trumpour has competency and experience in working with a wide range of personal and interpersonal challenges at home, with work, and in social settings. She has provided service for mild to severe mental health presentations. She is pleased to treat and support individuals with a history of complex trauma, which can present as depression, anxiety, difficulty managing emotions, feeling numb, feelings of worthlessness, guilt and shame, and/or difficulty in relationships, among other symptoms. Additionally, she is pleased to work with people struggling with depression, PTSD, emotional dysregulation, and those navigating their end of life.
Rachel maintains registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers, and the Alberta College of Social Workers. She is based out of Kelowna, where she can see clients in person, and can also meet individuals across British Columbia and Alberta virtually via the JANE video application, which is Health Profession Act compliant.
